The New Year is upon us and what better reason to splash out on some fantastic jewellery than that. Whether you’re getting dressed up for the perfect night out or perhaps a romantic night in, we have some stunning jewellery that will shine and shimmer for a good New Year.
New Year’s Eve
New Year’s Eve is a night to shine, it’s a brilliant excuse to wear your best jewellery and stand out from the crowd. We recommend wearing lots of colourful gemstones that will sparkle and shine under the lights around you. Rings with large stones, or long diamond pendants and necklaces to wear with long neck lines are stunning and will really show off your jewellery. Natural white gold, platinum or silver all look amazing with diamonds and go with all other colours, however if you’re wearing gold choose 2 or 3 statement pieces; more is less they say.

Also don’t be afraid to mix colours; coloured gems are fun and great to pair with other accessories you may be wearing. If you prefer the less traditional jewellery, charms, textured bracelets and pendants are a great alternative to mixing up an outfit. Charm bracelets are a great conversation starter and are full of personality. If you’ve got a Star pendant, ring or bracelet, they’re perfect for this special night, the magic and symbolism of the star is a perfect statement piece.

New Year’s Day
Depending on your plans this New Year’s Day, we suggest a ‘Day to Night’ look, that ensures you look great all day and all night, or whether you make plans at the last minute, there’s no need to stress over your look, when you’re already half way there! We recommend diamond stud earrings, they’re easy to mix and match with and when paired with a diamond bracelet or ring it really puts an outfit together.

Jewellery for 2016 is big and bold; from the runway of this years’ International Fashion Weeks around the globe we saw crystals with an array of designs from rings to necklaces, mixing chunky crystals with different metals making for gorgeous statement pieces. Chains and hoops are making a comeback, from chunky to slim; these are great accessories that are great on their own and the bigger the better!
If you’re going for a more subtle look next year, crosses are back and don’t necessarily relate to their symbolic associations. Mixing crosses with other small necklaces and symbols are a great way of experimenting with your jewellery. Pearls are also back; this classic look never goes out of style and there are so many ways of wearing Pearls – drop earrings are very fashionable for the New Year, so matching the two are a definite yes!
Naturally, Gold is here to stay, the runway was filled with structured bold, gold pieces that give a real edge to any outfit, Gold is really easy to match with and works day or night. For a more traditional look, expand your jewellery collection in the New Year for Brooches, there are an endless collection of designs to choose from and they look beautiful with shirts and blouses, especially collared clothing.
